Does this look familiar?

Drive-thru windows are great!

I recently had to take a short trip and I was completely out of my comfort zone. I felt confident of the directions I had gotten even though I was not really familiar with the area.
Since time is precious going through a drive through for lunch sounded really good to me. As I waited in line for my turn to talk at the little box, my thoughts began to wander. Finally, I was able to move up and began to relate my selection to the faceless box. There was no response. What was going on? I thought. I was loud enough. Within a few minutes there's a voice, "Can I take your order?" I took a look around totally embarrassed and repeated my order. "Thank you" and instantly the conversation was over.
Lately, I have been thinking about my time with God. During my prayer time I have slipped into the drive through mode. I make my list of needs and clearly give direction to God. Short and to the point because I know if I am busy, God must be very busy.
What a sad place to put the only real important time that I have with my Lord.
Unlike my fast food experience, God is always listening and available for me. He desires my relationship with Him to be more than just getting things done or providing for my needs. It is about a face to face conversation. Whatever matters to me, matters to God and He loves to hear me talk about my hopes and dreams.

Today, let us walk in and sit down at the table of the Lord to enjoy a banquet filled with His rich provision.
Hungry?

"The righteous has enough to satisfy his appetite, but the stomach of the wicked is in need." Proverbs 13:25 NAS
