My husband and I took a day off and drove about the area. I thought we were going to look for kitchen cabinets but Tim had other plans. He wanted to drive by our first apartment in Santa Ana, then the restaurant he worked at and lost his position a week before our wedding. The restaurant was gone and it was now a storefront for materials. Then off to the city of Orange, to our second apartment. It was there but much more upgraded. It was kind of fun to remember the days of struggling with the rent payment and the noise from our neighbors.
Finally, I convinced him that we had enough of 'memory reflecting' for one day and we set off to a nice restaurant for a early dinner. When we arrived home, Tim was exhausted and I was ready to clean out some closets and let go of some memories (treasures?). Our 15 yr old boy greeted us with his drama for the day so off I went to resolve the situation. Evan wasn't even interested in our stories of old.
Just like the song; "Memories, pressed between the pages of our minds." Life keeps inviting us for more opportunities for memories. Let's not let go of the snapshots of our past sweet thoughts. Let us grab the opportunities to create new photos of great memories. Get the camera and take a picture of that moment in time...
