There is an old song by James Taylor "Handy Man" and it talks about him being able to fix a broken heart. Of course it is about a man helping a woman who had been dumped but another guy.
But who can really fix a broken heart?
As a Christian, I hold on to the belief that our Maker is the only One who understands our real being. He is the Creator and therefore we should go to the 'original manufacture' for all repairs. That process is so different for everyone. For some, it is just a few minutes alone with a cup of coffee, a scripture and prayer.
Others, it is a difficult and challenging effort just to acknowledge the great void. You know the real 'brokenness'. A real place of need that can only be resolved by a day to day walk of obedience and effort of faith.
It is like walking through a muddy field with heavy boots on, that are untied and keep falling off but you must keep on walking.
I want a formula, an easy step... but the reality is - it is going to take a long time.

When I am going through a time of broken heartedness, I remember David's words, Why are you downcast, Oh, my soul, hope in God. Then I climb into Abba's lap and know that He will save every tear, He is the only true Comforter. Keep climbing into His lap my friend and as you lean into Him, you will be comforted.
Blessings in Him, jennifer
