The only time we have is today. We should live each day as our signature day. If this day stood for all of time, is this a day you would want to have your name on?
A few weeks ago I found myself at my Mother’s home - tools. Some valuable items that every person should have ready and available...
Duct tape – It is strong and ugly but it holds things together
WD 40 – It lubricates
Super Glue – It repairs the broken pieces makes it like new.
As we approach this very busy season it is easy to forget how valuable these items can be in our lives. So if you would allow me I would like to share some thoughts and comparisons concerning these items. When it comes to working with people and family. It is helpful to be reminded of these important items and the valuable truths they can represent.
Think about a positive statement you received or gave this past week. A Good Word – is like Duct tape. It is strong and reliable - ready to be used during difficult and tearing situations.
“Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Prov 16:24
"A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver." Prov 25:11
“How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth ” Ps 119:103
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” Psalm 119:105
How about when you have a difficult time. Your thoughts could go two different directions:
Choose an Attitude of Gratitude- It Is like WD 40 – a thankful heart get the squeaks out. Put a smile on your face and respond don’t react to the squeak
“A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones” Prov 15:30
Unconditional Love – Is like super glue – it mends the broken parts of our lives.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God And that is what we are ” I John 3:1

So when you find yourself using a piece of tape remember that when you use a good word you are strengthening the worn out or torn situations that happen.
Or when life starts to make a terrible sound; the sound of “just give up” what’s the use in trying?, you can’t do that!
Spray the lubricant of a positive thought and a attitude of gratitude
Finally, If you have a broken part—allow for unconditional love to repair mend and make knew the brokenness.
Don’t forget to allow it to dry!
